Module Overview

Youth explore six careers connected to the environmental theme of the engineering challenge: aeronautical engineer, documentary filmmaker, environmental planner, forest ecologist, pilot, and science communicator. They learn about these roles through a career quiz, short videos, A Day in the Life stories, and curated internet resources that show how diverse professionals help people in real-world emergencies. 

  • This Exploration is part of Engineering Parachutes, grades 3–5 
  • One 45-minute activity with extension ideas 
  • Materials needed: at least one device with internet per group
