Ready-to-Use Grant Language

Looking for More Ways to Fund STEM Materials?

Even if you have not been selected for this giveaway, there may be local funding opportunities that can help bring YES engineering materials to your community event.

We created this grant application aid to make it easier for educators to apply for small classroom grants, community giving programs, or local STEM funding. It includes sample language you can adapt to describe your students’ needs, explain the value of hands-on engineering, and make a strong case for support.

Use this text as a starting point, then personalize it for your classroom, school, and community.

Who should apply?

We will select 10 community organizations to receive a free STEM Event Activities kit. Community organizations, schools, libraries, and event organizers planning an upcoming family-friendly event and looking for an engaging activity that both entertains and teaches should apply.

What are STEM Event Activities?

YES STEM Event Activities are flexible, collaborative, and easy to facilitate. Volunteers can lead activities for families and adapt each challenge for younger or older participants, making them ideal for mixed-age community events, such as:

  • Library programming
  • PTO/PTA events
  • Afterschool programs and camps
  • Community festivals
  • Maker nights and STEM nights
  • Back-to-school and family engagement events

YES STEM Event Activities are part of a broader collection of hands-on STEM resources from Youth Engineering Solutions designed for classrooms, afterschool programs, libraries, and community learning spaces.

What will selected community organizations receive?

  • 1 YES STEM Event Activity Kit with everything needed to set up and run an activity with up to 20 families or small groups
  • 1 Expansion Kit serving an additional 20 families or groups
